Before I had a fenced yard and my dog needed to go out at night, I could hear leaves coming off the tree and also the small sound it made when it hit the ground/grass or other leaves. That was over 20 years ago. Don’t have a dog anymore, so I don’t know if my hearing is still that good, but probably close.
Dogs can hear and recognize sounds at a distance. Sounds such as cars and voices of other animals are very specific to them. They do communicate with each other.

Hopefully no more leaves will fall off the tree.

Wow! So what does a train running through a plate-glass window factory sound like, Rover?

WOW! That must have hurt, Rover! A little more gentle with those falling leaves. Love and Hugs for dearest Red and Rover

I can verify that! My dogs hear things from blocks away!

Our family corgi could distinguish the sound of the school bus from all the other traffic, and he would rush outside to greet us.

Some humans are more bothered by soft sounds than loud ones. Maybe some dogs, too.
