Actually, I’ve been bit by a common garter snake. Twice, same snake, just this last summer. Was about as large as they get around here. Wanted a picture, but was talking to my friend when I found it. So I wasn’t letting it go, and wasn’t giving it the attention I should have (been handling local snakes since I was a kid, since Dad taught me as a toddler, and got complacent). Suddenly I break out laughing, then laugh even harder. Friend asks what’s up, and I tell her I’d better go – a snake just bit me twice! I felt kinda bad, but I got some freaking AWESOME pics before I finally relented. 8>)
Had to reassure the friend, of course. And, I must admit that I deserved it. I was being pretty rude (sorry snake!) Barely any marks or skin breakage. And the snake was a good couple feet plus. So, no worries Mate! (As long as you know it’s not the poisonous snake from class 103 that escaped, that is.)
