Ellie’s word balloon in Panel #2 might have benefitted from being kept “Open” along the top and the sides.

Ellie is right, and Sedine should be proactive and create something to challenge Gabby, maybe that vampiress costume from last year. I bet a story about a vampire girl like Sedine would’ve been majorly popular, what could have been. ;)

I did notice the blanket in which Sedine is wrapped up. Often used in manga (and sometimes anime) as a backdrop for a character/situation which is addle-brained or confused, or a “potty emergency” situation (play on the “pee” sound). Is there a name for this kind of technique? I have also seen similar backdrops filled with random objects which resemble cacti, or fish, squiggles, crabs, squid, etc., or even stars/moons/planets; all to signify confusion/shock/dumbfoundedness (per these examples from the “Oh My Goddess!” manga:
