Phoebe is probably confusing an ear worm with a piece of herself. (Ear worms do invade, and become temporary pieces of ourselves to some extent, but not that way. It occurs to me that Marigold’s constant gazing upon her own loveliness is something similar to an ear worm, being involuntary and all that……..)
