I used to go to Sears but they never had prices on anything and I would just walk out. Even if I would ask the price of an associate, they didn’t know either. I hate that.

I remember back when Sears promoted their “softer side.” But in the end folks expected more and wanted to pay less.

Sears is what happens if you let a Randian run things. Right into the ground. But, hey, his wallet will be very fat. And isn’t that what it’s all about?

Empty, and full of random items of questionable value…

Well, I found out that our little Sears Associate store is closing in January. It was supposed to be totally independent from Sears Holdings, as I was told. Went in to look around, saw a Craftsman 16" chain saw on sale for just around $200 after a 30% discount. It’s a Poulon, by the way. Went to ANOTHER independent garden supply store here in town and they have a 16" Stihl, with about $50 of accessories on sale for the same $200 as a Christmas Package Deal. Bought the Stihl, of course. Sorry, Sears, but too expensive and the quality is NOWHERE close to what it USED to be! Heck, our Ace Hardware store sells Craftsman tools now…

Ouch. Talk about kicking someone when they’re down.
