I was expecting more of a “The Gift of Magi” thing:

Hubbs: “I sold my heart to get you this hairbrush.”

Ellie: “But I sealed up my hair to win your heart!” XD

Engraved? I’ll be keeping an eye on that calculator, if she had “From Ellie” engraved on it, then that gift could play a major role in this arc.

I love the gift exchange here, it looks like Ellie is an easy girl to shop for, as long as you put some thought behind it. Hey Ow didn’t topple the tree this year, I wonder if he made amends with the angel?

So is Ellie gonna make with the big reveal and let Hubbs know she is not Al?

Are we coming glacially closer to a resolution of the Deluded Duo’s psudo-kinda-sorta cross-dressing, gender-bending romance? Christmas would be the perfect moment for both of them to give and receive the gifts they want more then anything else in the world. Or will the eve of January 1st see a new year, new identities and a new relationship based on honesty, not opportunistic transvestitism?

Or maybe St Valentine’s Day would offer the traditional opportunity to set off on life’s journey with one of them wearing a Chix ‘n’ Wings outfit and the other a profoundly startled, nay, abashed and utterly poleaxed expression?

Then there are the long-forgotten festivities associated with Saint Swithin’s day, Full of romps and merriment, the casting off of inhibitions and disguises, and, if the day is as full of fulfillment as it promises to be, disporting oneselves… oneselfs.. one’s selves… one’s’selves’… themselves au natural in the warm Spring rains.

And speaking of Spring rains… what about Brenda?

When The Big Reveal does come, it’s gonna be good.

These two are too close for comfort. ✨

She got a lamp, but will she see the light? Will Hubbs? Doubtful. Ellies thrown up more red flags than a May Day Parade but Hubbs just doesn’ get it. At this point I don’t ever see it happening. Unless Ellie just rips all her clothes off. But even then Hubbs won’t get it.

But there is still so many more presents.

All in his head? No wonder he doesn’t have room for anything else.

Now where’s that mistletoe..?

Crazy idea:

Hubbs knows! He figured it out, but has been playing along because he can handle Al, but seeing her as Ellie still fills him with terror. He is slowly adjusting his thinking so that he can talk to Ellie without passing out.

I had a football phone as a kid. I just loved it.

I really like that added color – makes the comic pop!

Wow… that football lamp is a really excellent gift due to the “you light up my life” phrase.
