My cats never begged: they knew I’d always share the last bites. Or let them lick the bowl after mac and cheese. Or (Heaven!) share the ham from my sandwich. I’m beginning to see how I got so much weight when I gained a wife and lost the pets.

Am I detecting an early change for the better in CB’s attitude toward others?

I save the least-tasty piece for last and give it to my dog. His tastes are not very discriminating…
