I was thinking at first this was a snub against Charlie Brown (which is undoubtedly what Schulz was going for), but then I paid even more attention to the second and third panels. Schroeder really isn’t shown interested in taking a bite for Patty, the excitement is for teddy bear, Santa Claus, and Beethoven (most likely the excitement is really for Beethoven). Then the yuck when t’s for Charlie Brown, but I think there’d be that yuck face if Patty had said Patty again after getting him so excited for teddy bear, Santa claus, and, especially, Beethoven.
