Who doesn’t remember “Lad: A Dog.”
The Bunnie-Wunnies came later.
???
Well, there’s always “Where the Red Fern Grows” or “Old Yeller,” Charlie Brown. That is, if you want to traumatize Snoopy!
Uh, no we can’t.
The beginning where Lassie was inspired, Lad, a dog!
Personally I like the book “Wag, the Tale of a Dog”!
In case anyone is interested, The Call of the Wild by Jack London has been remade as a movie with Harrison Ford. Indiana Jones in Alaska!
My favorite books when I was 12. The Silver Chief, & Bob Son of Battle!
Don’t think I have ever seen one of his books https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Albert_Payson_Terhune
Guess too early for Ms. Helen Sweetstory and her bunnies….
Okay, you made me google him.
How about some Lilian Jackson Braun?
Snoopy’s into dog breeders at this point. Wait until he learns about the bunny wunnies.
I found some Terhune books in a bookmobile when I was 10 years old. They were old books then, and I think they were already out of print.
One wonders why Snoopy changed from Terhune to Helen Sweetstory (first mentioned in April 1971).
