Instead of resolutions, think “intentions”. Harder to break and allows more creative responses. For example: I will strive to be healthier, thus drink more water, exercise a little more regularly (holidays always shoot that schedule to hell) and eat a little leaner.
Oh and snark keeps you mentally healthy. Tact is only for those not witty enough for sarcasm.

Snark with in reason, without insults is a good goal. Truth to power without insults would be a good way of handling it.
