I have witnessed elementary school games played with wind chills below zero (pulled my East Indian daughter at half time because even with 3 layers of clothes and a side line blanket she couldn’t talk when she came off the field, only cry,) and High School girl’s soccer games played in the pouring rain last few years. Only lightning (and only when it finally became “local”) stopped them.
The players may be bright but I have lost a ton of respect for paid (latter) and amateur (former) coaches and referees.
Tigger - You should be aware that we are in the middle of the European professional soccer season right now. These pluggers are getting a deal. People in Europe pay through the nose to stand in the rain and watch soccer! (Go, Tottenham!)
Tigger, mightaswellbe: Depends on where you are. My niece has had a soccer match once where they actually had to debate whether to call it off because of rain. Thankfully, saner heads pointed out that some well-meaning players were already in danger of losing their shoes in the mud…

You think yours are bad? Try dealing with youth baseball. Especially in M**r, Ohio.
