Mother’s who don’t explain about this to their daughters are doing them a grave disservice. I’ve heard of girls who thought they were dying when it first happened. My mom didn’t want to talk about it either but she gave me this booklet called “What every young girl must know” which only raised more questions. But at least when it happened I knew what it was. I just needed to learn how to “use these” like they’re doing.

I learned about it in a health class at school. My mom never said a word.

I was lucky. In 5th grade, they separated the boys and girls. The nurse talked to us girls about what will happen and the Principal talked with the boys. I think a lot of schools have those talks, but who knows.

My mom couldn’t really tell us anything so she had books to read and I read them.
