I think I said this here a couple of months ago, but:

There is no experience more spiritually centering than to sit down in someone’s chair or on someone’s sofa and immediately find oneself swarmed by kittens.

If nothing else, that’s what pets can do!

Never underestimate the power of kitty cat magic.

The other thing kitties do—I’ve never had one that didn’t—is to jump up on any surface you’re working on, take a LONG, contemplative look around, and lay down RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE for their daily doses of luv and attention. Alternately adorable and aggravating. . .

Those purrs are exceptional especially at 3 AM in the morning.
