Appears to me to be just an accident. 1st panel: He’s leaning on it. 2nd: He looks surprised. 3rd: He looks scared, like “Am I going to be in trouble?” Plus, he’s got his paw on Garfield for reassurance.

Maybe they have a slush fund set up to defend him.

How could anyone possibly think Odie has a “bad” bone in his body? Odie’s protected by the code of a good heart: The least amount of trouble happens when you hold no ill will. That’s a lesson Garfield may never learn.

I wonder if that Snowman is going to come back to life and say, “Odie! I am your father!!”
