When I was in elementary school in the early 60s, it was popular to add metal taps to the bottom of our dress shoes. No one knew how to to tap dance. We just liked the sound as we tapped down the school hallways.

I remember getting new shoes as a kid, thing was, I didn’t go with, they were brought home to me and you had no choice.
