The major universities play these smaller schools at the beginning of the year. For a few games. Boise State and TCU play them all season long because the conferences they play in stink. End of story. Neither team would be undefeated if they played in the Big Ten. If they played in the SEC I would be willing to bet that they wouldn’t even be bowl eligable.
