That second panel gives me no hint at what the “spoor” is. Does Sam have stinky feet? I don’t see Joe, so it’s my guess that Tarzan will have to leap into the boat as it leaves the dock, and finish the job.
When Tarzan was organizing the townsfolk to re-take the town, Easy Joe disappeared. It seems strange that he happened to turn up down at the docks. Maybe Sam and Joe are in cahoots?
