I saw some fat free Half and Half in the store. My first thought was âHow do they make that?â but then I realized that I really didnât want to know. You want fat free? Eat a carrot.
Much like for years we were all told to use margarine instead of butter because of the amount of fat in butter. Now it turns out that butter is actually healthier. Just as long as you donât pile it on where either one is bad. In a similar line eating sugar does not cause diabetes. Being overweight can lead to type 2 for many people and if they could lose weight and change their diet it may be âcuredâ. It is just that the pancreas can make only so much insulin for many people and too much body and food that turns into sugar overworks it. As others have pointed out all this reduced fat foods usually have the reverse effect on the body for various reasons and result in weight gain and a reduction in health.
My Wife and I have worked in several restaurants and we were always amazed at the customers who would order a âDIET SODAâ then a Big Bacon Cheese Burger with Large Fries or such,or something very fattening and a desert on a menu ! âAnd hereâs your sign!â

Problem is low fat food is often over loaded with sugar to make it taste good â and that increase in sugar triggers your body to hoard fat.
