My son mislaid his Teddy Bear while camping (he was very young) and we didn’t find it until we went to launder the sleeping bag – Teddy was squashed almost flat at the foot of the bag. Our boy had been nearly hysterical up to then. Boy, was I glad that Teddy turned up at last. I was ready to tear my hair out. We turned the place upside down looking for it, not having a clue where he could have lost it. The drive home was very difficult, trying to console a little boy over the loss of his “bestest pal.”
“Peanuts” seems to get most of the publicity, but this is a lot more important than having a football pulled out from under your foot. Both cartoons feature strong young girls. Have to admire that.
When our house was robbed, they took a jewelry box I made in high school, it had my class ring in it, and some old love letters from my wife, a couple Sacajawea dollars, nothing of real value, they probably couldn’t even pawn the ring for $10. I had those things for 40 years (except the dollar coins). I got the last laugh though, they missed an envelope in my wife’s top drawer that had $1000 in it. Stupid F’s.
I’m sure that the house was being scoped before they left to go to the wedding, which is how the robbers knew that no one would be at home. Too bad dad didn’t listen to Calvin, and turn back to get Hobbs. He might have stopped the robbery from occurring. What I don’t understand is how come none of the neighbors saw or heard anything suspicious?

Don’t worry, Calvin. Thieves don’t care for the truly valuable things.

She’s going to have to sit very still and look very unnatural if she’s enjoying the date!
