I prefer body surfing, it’s similar, but without the boards (and wipeouts are more interesting).

To paraphrase on an old saw….there are two types of people… those who have wiped-out body boarding and those who are GOING to wipe out body boarding. Skill comes after bruises and scars. Some of which you can even show off in public.
They should try out safer sports like BMX Biking or Mixed Martial Arts…
