I prefer iced coffee for this very reason. I’ve never understood the draw for hot drinks. Even as a kid, I would let my hot chocolate cool to lukewarm before I would drink it. I don’t enjoy burning my tongue and mouth. I had some co-worker who loves hot drinks tell me once that “it gets easier” when I asked how they ever got used to sipping on hot coffee.
Like a new guitar player who must get used to the sore calluses on their fingers from playing a lot, a hot drinks person must get used to the scalding burn from the hot liquid that will eventually callus their mouths and tongue so it doesn’t hurt so much after time. (ha ha)

Just check the steam coming out of my mouth any cool, damp day.

I always ask for lite ice in my coffee from McDonald’s. I can’t enjoy it when it scalds the roof of my mouth!

I like my coffee like I like my women. Cold and bitter.

I burn my front upper lip every time. I wait for an hour before I take the first sip usually.

I had a co-worker who’d pour his coffee an hour before he wanted to drink it, so it would have time to cool down. He called it “café au later.”

Water boils at 192 degrees in Santa Fe, a result of being 7200 feet above sealevel.

You get an enhanced effect if you follow it up with a bubbling slice of pizza fresh from the oven.

Can I get one? I have a hydroflask, which is FANTASTIC but I really want a Dewer’s flask.
