Hold on, us oldies (over the age of 18) have to stop and remember how schooldays logic works. If, say, today is Wednesday and holidays start on Friday, then not counting today, holidays start on Friday and there is only one day before school closes. On the other hand, if it is Friday before return to school on the Monday after holidays then the logic becomes, counting today there are still four days to go.
Ginger is thinking. “Today is Sunday and tomorrow is Monday, therefore I have two days to do my homework.” Or, is he thinking, “Will my logic bluff Mum?”
Love today’s Meggsie, it is just how we all thought. I guess it was the budding optimist in all of us that ultimately saw us see hope in no matter what dire circumstances came along in years to come. The good was about to happen, the bad will hold off for a while.
