Some menus can almost count as a book. I can’t take my wife to those places — she’ll be there until closing just trying to choose what to eat.

Big Nick’s diner on Broadway and 77th was the only restaurant I’ve ever encountered with a menu so big that it had a table of contents (which enabled you to put contents on the tables). Sadly, it’s been gone for six years now. The restaurant business in New York is a sad and beautiful world.

Very tasty, but also very pricey.
