We have all seem to have our favorite music periods. Mine is the 60’s. There were some great innovations then. But, if we were to listen to all the music from then, we would realize most of it wasn’t so good. The mediocre music got buried and the good music survives. I would guess that ratio of good to bad music is the same today as it was then.

The 60s through early 70s is my favorite music period. But if all of us who prefer that period started listing the “best” bands and songs there’d be quite the argument.

I work with a lot of millennials and requested good music recommendations and got hooked on some amazing new music. Music is for enjoyment, it’s no sin to stay with what makes you happy. But if you don’t really explore what each generation has to offer then you might reconsider bashing them.

My father really liked the ELP and Alan Parsons Project music I had. And going back further, he liked Black Sabbath’s “War Pigs”. And I really liked a lot of his Big Band music…
