My former next door neighbour had lights strung under the eaves of her bungalow for years and years which were never taken down. The amazing thing was that no light ever burnt out – every year she would just flip the switch and on they’d come!

Some people leave them up all year. Saves the hassle of having to put them up and take them down.

I don’t bother with lights, so they’re no bother.
