Dad: Kemper Elementary is on Montezuma and school's letting out! I'm not getting stuck in that traffic! GPS: Recalculating. In 200 yards, turn left onto Davis Street. Dad: That's crazy! I know a shortcut! GPS: Re- <sob> Calculating Thatababy: Dad made the GPS cry again.

Mapquest often works the same way, choosing roots I don’t want to take.

My phone tells me where I am at at all times and how to get somewhere if I’m not sure. I don’t need the GPS. One less reason for someone to break into my car. :^)

GPS does not help you find the hospital when they’ve moved it and the phone books haven’t been updated. A sad thing when you’re taking someone to Emergency.

I live 60 miles east of L.A.. When a friend broke down on the freeway in that city, my GPS was a godsend when she called for help. However, it did want to send me out of my way, and it couldn’t do anything about the horrible storm we were having at the time.
