Sad but true that peace usually has to be imposed through violence. (Or at least the threat thereof.) If you want those two to stop fighting, you’d better come armed with a big club!
Third Guy, not Thirdguy, Thirdguy.
And notice that all three are MALES! lol!
Wiley, very funny, but very true…. and I can’t decide if I should laugh or cry…
Several days ago, Calvin & Hobbes showed a cartoon in black and white. Although it was written many years ago, it was reprinted recently, to describe people who see no gray areas–only black and white. Was this portending today’s Non Sequitur? Creepy!
It’s more fun to refuse compromises–until your side loses.
Compromise really is the art of finding the common ground–what most of both sides can live with, and ideally some solution neither really had considered that gives them both more than half their demands.
But it’s not always easy. Which is when that cliff edge is tempting…
Compromise means everyone is just a little unhappy and the selfish generation can’t stand even a second of unhappiness and wouldn’t know how to live without the fear of losing happiness which, conversely, makes them constantly unhappy.
Ask bmonk about JOY however. different story altogether.

That’s awesome. Common ground that we can agree on. :D
Country has become so polarized by parties, there are so many “maybe”ers tossed off a cliff. I think there is room for the Greenpeace left and creationist right to go off and form their own parties. Not everyone agrees with the extremes.

I find that ‘maybe’ just gets ignored, and ‘yes’ and ‘no’ quickly resume their fight.

At least under the new Health Care Law, getting thrown off of a cliff, won’t be seen as a pre-existing condition!

They certainly agreed on one thing: that “Maybe” weirdo has to go.

And with WikiLeaks we now know:
Yes=Mostly, except weekends No=Hey, I’m Easy and Maybe=’I so own you’
Got to love that transparency

FishStix:
And you wonder why normal people don’t suck up to you. And then you endlessly whine.
Go back to the perfectly respectful and fulfilling avocation of fishing. Fishermen when fishing are wise and wonderful.
When you start baiting decent people you flee wisdom and wonder.

In some cases, two parties only get along if they have a mutual enemy.
Remove the enemy and the two parties go back to feuding.
The trick to getting the two parties to compromise is finding the a mutual enemy which is distant enough that they can’t throw it over a cliff.

Of course its possible that the compromise position is wrong and one of “yes” or “no” are correct…
