The border situation has been a problem through many past presidents, but this president really uses it to his advantage to make himself look great and he’ll solve it by building a wall and so many other things. Let’s pick on anyone who dares oppose him or has any other ideas to turn things around so his base can rally from hearing what they want to hear. Let’s hear it for Mr. Trump – he has managed to accomplish the greatest divide in the history of the country. Oh, we’ve had divisions before I admit, but never to the proportion this continues to grow. Just wait until tomorrow if you don’t believe me – Happy Trump Day, formerly known as Independence Day! He’ll show American how great he is by flexing his muscle, the heck with anyone else who isn’t in his camp.

Mr. Summers gives us a highly distorted view of the situation. Of course. This is what Mr. Summers does. What Mr. Summers did not do was recognize that a big piece of the crisis at the border is that our border enforcement organization has set up a system which illegally treats people who have requested legal entry with inhumane conditions in what amount to holding pens. “People” includes children. So, say you are an elected Representative in the house; the administration comes and requests $4.6 billion for, presumably, more aggressive enforcement. That doesn’t necessarily look like an automatic “Yes” vote.

Can’t believe she hasn’t been ousted! Arrested! Most of the Dems should be.

“Humanitarian aid” = aid to crimes against humanity. Just like “right to work” = the right to get fired for no reason and “citizens united” = corporate owned government.

Mr. Summers, so you do NOT think that 9 dead in a year under current conditions, including children, is deplorable?

A LOT of bills seeming positive, especially in title, have content that sucks, and that’s what AOC was voting against.

It’s no bill for humanitarian aid, but a bill to spend more for the system in general. The fraction which will go into humanitarian aid is not stated. Her position is, that higher funding of the system enables more jailing of refugees. It’s a difficult question how to decide, but it’s in no way a reason to condem her. Unless you don’t like her anyway, then you will use anyrhing against her, be it adequate or not.

AOC held her ground while the rest of the Dems gave in to the Senate. Its today’s reality. What really needs to happen is more aggressive action to close the detention centers. Dems need to demand more tours of more places and continue to expose.
