I think the point is she doesn’t have the correct understanding of a proper noun, she confused noun in general with proper noun (as in her description of noun applies to people (but a proper noun) but did not cover other (inanimate) nouns.
Proper nouns are the names of individual people, places, titles, calendar times, etc..
