France gave the U.S. that statue. I seem to recall reading that FDR didn’t let Jews enter the U.S. while the Nazis were exterminating them. Obama said that economic hardship WASN’T a reason to grant someone asylum. [Both Democrats.]
Apparently that has all changed…at least to the south it has. It’s a lovely sentiment & I still feel free, no matter what!!!
