The turning point for me was about ten years ago, I was in Mervyn’s and heard a Muzak rendition of Ozzy Osbourne’s “Crazy Train.” Not even a ballad!
I agree with FishStix, except Walmart always has too much noise going on too. The thinking these days seems to be to turn up the “music” to block out other noises, which leads to making the other noises louder, so the music gets louder, so the other noises get louder…. I do miss being able to go to a restaurant and having a conversation without having to shout to be heard.
