A lot of “chocolate” is actually just “chocolate-flavored.” A mastiff or St. Bernard can take a lot; nearly anything will hurt or kill a toy poodle, Pomeranian, etc. ALWAYS hit the panic button for dark chocolate and especially baker’s chocolate.
Sculpting with chocolate implies using a small block of milk chocolate to keep the expense merely painful. A medium or large dog would probably survive (but always play it safe!); a small dog might not, but chocolate isn’t cyanide: discovered soon enough, a quick trip to the vet’s should avert disaster.
