Who says they don’t teach hands-on science in schools these days?

So long as they all come back down, conservation of momentum will keep the Earth in its orbit.

I love that the teacher and the seagull both are in on this!

I love that the teacher is involved.

Just like when we were kids, and thought the clouds moving past was from the rotation of the Earth..!

Now it’s time to find a small bridge and march across it in step.

Mrs. MacIntosh is a good egg.

My high school Physics teacher did the math to demonstrate that that if the entire human race simultaneously jumped off the Great Wall of China, the resulting shock would change the orbit of the Earth by less than the size of an atom.

You just need one more class to do it at the same time. Should work…

Old joke from the 50s was that the Chinese never got the a bomb, they just had the entire population falling e east jump up at the same time and shout BOOOM!

Love the fact that the teacher is trying it, too. And, like all kids — well, like almost everyone — they’ve given no thought to what might happen if their experiment succeeded.

That middle panel is quintessential Will Henry. The dialogue bubble might as well say “JOY!” instead of “JUMP!”

You just see the teacher jump and you think, “Hmmmmmm?”

I see the purple haired girl is a blonde now- that’s a shame because I liked to think she and Spud were related somehow since they both have/had purple hair….
