I sympathise! Todd, you need to swallow your pride and ask for help! And get shoes with Velcro ties!
Were this a Sunday strip, you would see that painting by Mme Deuxcoleour in all its glory!
I suggest slip-ons
Arse over teakettle is hardly graceful you would think, but compared to his walking…
Todd met that challenge with all the grace he could muster.
I hate to ever second guess Mr. Van Amerongen, as I have great admiration for his comic genius.
But it seems to me that perhaps he meant Todd was “grace-challenged”, rather than “gracefully challenged”…
If he falls over when trying to reach his feet, he might want to try Scooter’s method of shoelace tying….
I’m sure Scooter would be willing to come demonstrate for a biscuit or two.

It’s not actually the biscuits that motivate Scooter, you know… they’re more of a token….
an acknowledgement that his help is sought, and is being rewarded.
Scooter loves to know that a person wants to learn something from him….
He’s always proud to teach a human a new trick.
He’s no fun, he fell right over!
Todd needs to watch some You-Tube videos on tying shoes.
I thought that at a certain age all “challenged” men switch to Velcro?
And he had gained so much confidence because he could walk and chew gum(most of the time…)
It’s a shame when a man totals himself!
Those must be his dancing shoes.
Todd remembers when he was ungracefully challenged, so he’s improving.

since there doesn’t seem to be much about him that’s graceful at all.If he falls over when trying to reach his feet, he might want to try Scooter’s method of shoelace tying….
