That’s a good point. Why do I come here?

We all have that problem Chester. And it’s never as fun as you thought it would be.

Actually, you’ve burdened other people who will have to figure out if what you did is worth keeping.

But you loved doing it at the time. It’s the present moment that really counts. Enjoy it, and live in the Now because that’s the only setting in which you are actually alive! Right here! Right Now!!!

As you get older, it’s like looking at your baby pictures.

    Count your blessings, Chester…

Lately, around here, there’s nothing to even take pictures of.

Day 111 in quarantine… Plods’ daily calculations notwithstanding…

that would be 111 views of me at the computer.

But honestly, I try to remember not to complain.

Not about having to sit around the house….

when there are people fighting fires, picking grapes in the sun… working 16 hour shifts in the hospital… or half a world away… scavenging for rice to feed their children.

Let’s all be grateful, if we’re sitting at our computers.

Maybe one of these days we’ll be able to go out again and make some memories….

even if we have to take pictures to remember them.

Oooh that reminds me of the Kinks….

a great line I’ve never forgotten:

“People take pictures of each other,

Just to prove that they really existed"

That’s the best reason to keep doing things. If you can’t remember the past ones, then keep doing things now so you can live in the moment instead.

And now you can be embarrassed every time you look at them… ☺

Good point.. not remembering the past leaves the mind to speculate on how it could have been.

That’s exactly what I’ve been doing this summer – sorting 19 years worth of color photo packs, taken in those years before I went digital. It’s been fun to look back at it all. My motive for doing this now is to get prepared for making a picture book of people from my old hometown – my own Ballard Street, if you will.

For most of us, it’s short term memory that goes first. Why did I come in to this room, anyway?
