I take it that she doesn’t qualify as a “MILF”? (It’s hard to tell who is supposed to be pretty in this strip)

Back in the day, thongs were what people call flip-flops today. Those kids need to get their minds out of the mud.

Maybe Dan and his friends were MEANT to hear that chatter as the parents’ subtle hinting that it’s time for the friends to leave.;-D

Perhaps Dan’s mother is referring to footwear?

Wow, TMI indeed. Though, when I was a kid, I am pretty sure we called flip-flops ‘thongs’. It has taken a different meaning now of course.

Before the g-string thongs, they used to refer to flip flops back in the 60’s and 70’s. It took me awhile, in the 90’s, to undo my language – it was the “Whale Tail” reference that straightened me out.

However, those born after the late 80’s have no reference to flip-flops in their brain, hence this is probably where the revulsion and embarrassment ensues in the strip. OR, his mom might wear red or sparkly g-string thongs!

Are thongs big enough to be referred to as a “pair”? Usually I see and hear them referred to as just a thong or thongs if there is more than one.

I hope the thongs she’s talking about is the thong sandals…

Some people refer to flip flops as “thongs”… that is the explanation I am going with… avoiding the need for brain bleach!

This is a rare one in which the way people are drawn really fits the subject matter..they all look like they are coming unglued.

Let’s give her the benefit of the doubt and assume she’s referring to sandals.
