I hadn’t realized just how sweet and good-hearted Peppermint Patty was until I read the strips. I thought she was just a tomboy archetype, but she’s got a lot of depth that feels natural and still quite endearing and funny at times. That’s not an easy combination to write with, especially in a four-panel strip. I can see why people liked her so much, and I can see why Schulz considered her main character material. :)
