Snoopy adjusts his collar in a mirror that hangs on a door.<BR><BR> He walks.<BR><BR> Lucy stands under the mistletoe. She smiles.<BR><BR> "Mmmmm" Snoopy puckers up to Lucy.<BR><BR> "Get away from here, you stupid beagle! I'm waiting for someone more important.." She kicks him: boot!<BR><BR> Snoopy sits and frowns, glancing off to one side.<BR><BR> Boot! He kicks Lucy.<BR><BR> "AUGH!" Lucy flies at Snoopy.<BR><BR> A scuffle insues. [PANEL 10]: They lie beneath the mistletoe and look up as Shroeder walks by. He says, "Fighting beneath the mistletoe? How unfeminine..how unromantic..how gauche!"<BR><BR> [PANEL 11]: Lucy sits up. Snoopy leans over and thinks, "We wouldn't want to be gauche, would we, sweetie? Happy holidays!" SMAK! Snoopy gives Lucy a kiss.<BR><BR>

I gather SCHROEDER was the one Lucy was waiting for, AND, as it was, her plan to “trick” him into meeting him somewhere(under the mistletoe, NO DOUBT, JUST so she could KISS him, as we all know)had failed, BIGTIME—going just about as well as, say,Kermit’s News Flash series, on Sesame Street, in terms of someone’s scheme to accomplish something, failing.
