Ralston: Say, Cap - how come I never see you in your secret identity? Captain Victory: You could've seen me hundreds of times and just never recognized me. Ralston: Oh, come on! I highly doubt you could ever be that... Oh my gosh, that's incredible!!!
I read that in some media Lex Luthor had a computer programmed to determine Superman’s secret identity. The computer spat out Clark Kent and Luthor figured the program was flawed because there was no way Clark Kent could be Superman. That’s even worse than the wearing of glasses fooling everyone.
But there was some explination that it wasn’t just the wearing of glasses. As Clark he slouched so as to look a little shorter, wore clothes slightly to big for him to look a little fat, combed his hair so as to not have the little curly que, and modulated his voice to sound a little different. Another explination was that a Silver Age power was super hypnosis/mind control that the glasses increased the effectiveness of, making people think Superman and Clark Kent were two different people.

I tried that once. I whipped off my glasses and promptly walked into a wall…
