Woodstock and Snoopy sit on the doghouse. Woodstock sits in front of a typewriter. Snoopy looks at a piece of paper.<BR><BR> Woodstock begins to type. Snoopy looks up and thinks, "Dear sir . . ."<BR><BR> Woodstock and Snoopy jump in the air. Typewriter characters fly everywhere.<BR><BR> Woodstock and Snoopy sit on the doghouse dazed. Snoopy thinks, "My secretary isn't used to an electric typewriter!"<BR><BR>

Before they had electric typewriters, mechanical typewriters jammed up when you typed too fast. To alleviate this problem the keys were laid out so that the letters were evenly distributed across both hands. As a result of that I’m typing this on a qwerty layout keyboard.
