I also like Linus’ rolled eyes, in Panel 2, as if to say to Marcie,“OK,go right ahead, and ask me.” even though you can tell he knows what she is going to ask him, and sure enough, she does(and she would ALWAYS get the name wrong—several years later, she would think it was the “Great Grape.”)

Marcie’s line in Panel 3 was heard in this one Peanuts musical, called “The World According to Snoopy,” in fall 1976, only it was supposed to be Peppermint Patty asking this of Linus, at the end of the one song sung by him,“The Halloween Vigil.”

The great pumpkin nor great squash showed up. Maybe the great yam was at dinner theater that night.
