Transcript:
Marcie stands next to a bench. A baseball bat lies on the ground. She holds a sign which reads, "Play me, trade me, forget me..who cares?"<BR><BR> Marcie looks off to the side and exclaims, "Oh, no!"<BR><BR> Peppermint Patty approaches and tosses Marcie a mitt. "Guess what, Marcie..I've decided to give you a try at centerfield this year!" Marcie responds, "I don't play baseball, Sir..."<BR><BR> Peppermint Patty says, "I think you'll be a real natural!" Marcie disagrees: "I hate games, Sir!"<BR><BR> The two are silhouetted. Peppermint Patty suggests, "Why don't you just trot out there on your Billie Jean King legs and we'll see what you can do..." Marcie protests as she walks away: "I can't do anything, Sir, because I hate baseball!"<BR><BR> They are no longer silhouetted. Peppermint Patty waves her bat and offers, "Just remember, Marcie, that winning is everything, and losing is nothing!"<BR><BR> Marcie stands in the field, with the mitt on her hand. She stands in profile and addresses Peppermint Patty. "I don't agree, Sir...winning just doesn't mean that much to me..."<BR><BR> Peppermint Patty swings her bat, adding, "Okay, there's a nice high one...get under it fast, and then wing it on home!"<BR><BR> "I have no interest in getting under it and winging it on home..." Marcie calls as she chases after the ball, which is heading towards her. PANEL 10: Marcie stands in wind-up position. She shouts, "I DON'T PLAY BASEBALL, SIR !!"<BR><BR> PANEL 11: "The job's yours, Marcie! Congratulations!!" shouts Peppermint Patty as Marcie tumbles backwards through the air. PANEL 12: Peppermint Patty lies flat on her back. She says, "By the way, just because I'm the manager, doesn't mean you have to call me 'Sir'." Marcie, who is standing, responds, "Yes, Sir..." She sighs.<BR><BR>
