Aside from just being a weird tangent to what CB was talking about, Lucy’s conclusion is actually kind of insulting if you think about it. She’s saying that he have to be multiplied by himself again to amount to anything substantial!

Charlie Brown doesn’t complain as much as he used to. This is one of the few occasions in recent years.

remember, being called a zero is not an insult!!!!i always consult others when they’re being called that with this advice:- look there’s a number three position with a bronze person on it, not so bad and before that there’s a second position with the silver person, very good everyone likes them and before that is the first position with the gold person many considering him best but he’s not because there’s also a no. before 1 it’s zero and it’s neither bronze nor silver nor gold it’s DIAMOND and it’s the BEST of all!!! just remember that!

HILARIOUS, though cruel, the way Lucy makes a pun on “zero”(by depicting Charlie Brown as a number—you know he really means zero as in someone who’s no good). So she’s asking him if he wants to be a “par seventy-two”? She thinks he would make a good golf figure?(Ha,ha!) Again, cruel, but HILARIOUS, the way she twists CB’s definition of "zero"around.

Lucy’s a real viper- there just isn’t a way that’s not based on someone in Schulz’s life
