Lucy leans on the piano and reads some papers. Schroeder says, "I hate to show any interest, but in your book, does Beethoven meet any other women?"<BR><BR> Lucy replies, "Oh, yes! In chapter four his landlady says to him, "If you don't pay your rent, you know what I'll do?"<BR><BR> Schroeder tumbles in the air. Lucy kicks the piano and says, "I'll kick your piano!"<BR><BR> Schroeder lies under the piano and says, "I knew I shouldn't have shown any interest . . ."<BR><BR>

He feels stupid for saying anything, since Lucy would be using any excuse to kick the competition, I mean, piano. And it’s not like it’s the first time she did this in a matter of days.

Is this a subtle 4th wall break on how Schroeder never gets to meet any other love interests in the strip? Sucks that he never he gets the chance to. Also this one of the rare times where we hear his inner thoughts
