He must mean außer… I wonder if Schulz was trying to look up how to write a capital ß, couldn’t find it and just left it out?

the french must have not understood German the guys they attacked!(flying ace was of french origin when Adolphe Pégoud defeated seven German aircraft you need to know that get the joke) This is like when native americans are killed(in the past history not anymore)
