Peppermint Patty stand on a chair by the sink, looing in the bathroom's mirror.<BR><BR> She walks down the lane with Marcie and exclaims,"You know what I am, Marcie? I'm a weed!" She continues,"The world is filled with beautiful plants and flowers, but I'm just an ugly weed."<BR><BR> She continues,"I'm a poor ugly weed trying to push her way up through the sidewalk of life!" Marcie replies,"That's a great metaphor, sir."<BR><BR> They stop and Marcie continues,"Did you know that weeds have a wide tolerance for environmental conditions and the rare ability to exploit recently disturbed terrain?"<BR><BR> Peppermint Patty asks,"What in the world does that mean?" Marcie replies,"You can roll with the punches, sir!<BR><BR> Peppermint Patty puts her finger in her mouth and says,"By golly, Marcie, I think you're right...."<BR><BR> She sits at her classroom desk and lounges back in her seat. She exclaims,"I've got my confidence back, Ma'am! Ask me anything! Give me your best shot!"<BR><BR> Peppermint Patty sits on the floor outside of the principal's office. She says,"I'll bet the principal would be surprised to find a weed growing in front of his office..."<BR><BR>

You’d think her teacher would appreciate and be impressed by Patty’s show of confidence. But apparently she’s the stereotypical authoritarian children-should-be-seen-and-not-heard hag.
