Canadians have to wait to months for Christmas after their Thanksgiving in October. Makes me wonder what they do during those weeks in between (aside from Halloween and Veterans’ Day).

We are thankful for what we have, and thankful for we do not have and don’t want.

What’s to get? Either you have thanks to give, or you haven’t. So simple most children would get it – except Alice.

If I may wax nostalgic for a moment..when I was that age, I didn’t think much of Thanksgiving. Now it is my second favorite holiday!

One thing I always admired about Richard Thompson was his ability to write children who sound like real children, an very tricky thing to do.

The memory of a four-year-old is limited.

But Alice needs to learn what Thanksgiving is supposed to be….
