Marcie sits at her desk watching Peppermint Patty look at a sheet of paper. She says,"Go ahead, sir..it can't hurt to ask..."

Peppermint Patty walks up to the front of the class holding the paper in front of her. She says,"Ma'am, about the 'D Minus' on my report card..."

She continues,"'D' is certainly a wonderful letter...it's probably one of the most important letters in our alphabet...by itself, it has dignity..."

She continues,"When you put a 'Minus' in front of it, however, it loses that dignity...it appears dreamed..."

She shakes her hand and exclaims,"Put a 'plus' in front of that 'D', Ma'am, and it changes completely! You've placed a sword in its hand that gives it power and strenght!!!"

She turns to her left and says,"I see...no, that's all right...I understand...."

She sits back at her desk and says to Marcie,"She said she couldn't change my grade..."

She looks at her report card and concludes,"But she said if she's ever on trail, for her life, she'd want me for her attorney..."

But how can she become one if you keep hitting her with D Minuses?

Only problem with the argument is that the minus is after the D, not in front of it. That’s why it’s called a “D-minus” and not a “minus-D”
