KK: shut up, really?
clovis/gunther:Its being delivered atop a 747 to the science museum for permanent display!!
It looks like two medflies mating!!
I think I just got shat on!!
It did a fly-by down the California coast back when I worked at a naval base there. We all stopped work and went into the parking lot (about a half-mile from the beach) to watch it go by, and say farewell.
I connected through El Paso once. As we were taxiing, I looked over at the adjacent Air Force base, and there was the shuttle/747 combo, stopping off on the way back from the landing site to Cape Canaveral.

It flew over the Washington Navy Yard on the way to Dulles. It did look so tiny perched on the plane!
