Jarvis brings to this strip the British “stiff upper lip”. There are so many great & diverse Monty characters. How do you choose from Monty, Moondog, Pilsner, Fleshy, EB, Doc, Gretchen, master Sedgewick & Jarvis ?Maybe someone needs to create a poll. As I love all the characters for their quirkiness it’s a difficult decision. I can only rule out Gretchen so far as being the least interesting (she is still extremely “out there” but doesn’t feature as regularly as the other characters)
The strip reminds me of an old Hummer commercial where a kid takes his Hummer soapbox racer straight down a sttep hill, eschewing the switchback race course and wins the race. All to the music of The Who’s “Happy Jack”…
Yup. You definitely need the higher carriage on the main spiral staircase, Sedgwick! In this context, a Hummer is much better than a Lamborghini. Repair bills will be significantly less, too….

I’m rather surprised the stairs weren’t redone to be a ramp, to better suit the Lambo’s clearance.

Jarvis obviously got such a shock by the new vehicle that he lost his pocket handkerchief in panel four.

“It was fun Jarvis, but absolute misery on my butt.”

And it didn’t offer much protection from the land-mines the gardeners keep planting outside!

But Hummers are so early 2000’s. Shouldn’t he be driving a Maserati SUV?
